Telugu words (పదాలు) and proverbs (సామెతలు) are heard less often in everyday conversation. We want children to discover and use them, keeping our musical language and its culture alive across generations.
In June 2026, childhood friends Harsha and Karthik began talking about something close to home. With children aged three and up, they shared a wish with many of their friends: to help their kids learn and use Telugu, their mother tongue.
Santosh built the first working prototype, and Harsha used it to help his daughter learn Telugu. While travelling on the Hyderabad Metro, he opened the app so she could practise tracing letters. Other passengers noticed and asked about it. Their curiosity gave the team an early sign that other families wanted this too.
That moment encouraged us to bring Abhyaasam to Telugu families around the world. Feedback from parents and children who tried the beta has helped us shape the app around how kids actually learn.
Our team creates and fine-tunes every Telugu alphabet tracing path by hand. People curate the learning text and audio, and the voice feedback comes from recordings of real people.
We do not use AI-generated text, synthetic voices or user-facing AI algorithms in the app.
Since that first conversation, Abhyaasam has grown from an idea to a prototype, an MVP and a functional app tested by parents and children. Santosh has led its development and fine-tuned the alphabet tracing algorithm. Mallika curates the content and audio. Feedback from families continues to guide what we make next.
