Short version: Abhyaasam is a Telugu‑learning app for young children, set up and managed by a parent or guardian. We collect the minimum needed to run the app, we never sell data, we show no third‑party ads, and most data stays on your device. This policy explains what we collect and your choices.
Who this is for
Abhyaasam is intended to be used by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. The account is created and controlled by an adult. We do not knowingly let children create accounts or provide personal information without a parent.
Information we collect
Parent account: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address to identify your account and unlock any purchase you make.
Child learning profile: a display name or nickname, an avatar, and an age range that the parent enters, plus learning progress (letters practiced, stars, streaks). Please use a nickname rather than a full legal name.
Purchase status: if you buy Premium, our payment processor (Stripe) handles the card details — we never see or store your card. We only store whether your account is Premium.
Basic technical data: standard server logs needed to operate and secure the service.
What we do NOT do
No third‑party advertising or ad tracking.
No selling or renting of personal information.
No behavioral profiling of children.
How we use information
To run the app — save progress, sync it across the parent's devices, and unlock Premium content.
To process a Premium purchase (via Stripe) and keep it unlocked for your account.
To keep the service secure and fix problems.
Where data is stored
Lesson content and progress are stored on your device. If you sign in, a copy of the child profile and progress is synced to our servers (Amazon Web Services, USA) so it can be restored on a new device. Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
Service providers
Google Sign‑In — parent authentication.
Stripe — payment processing for Premium (on our website).
Amazon Web Services — hosting and database.
On‑device Google Text‑to‑Speech — speaks Telugu on the device; no recording is sent to us.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The parent/guardian creates the account and thereby provides consent for the limited information described above. We collect only what is needed for the educational features and never require a child to disclose more than necessary. A parent may review, update, or delete their child's information at any time (see below).
Your choices & rights
Delete a child profile (and all of its progress) anytime in the app: Choose Profile → delete (🗑) on the profile card.
Delete your account & data: email us and we will remove your account and associated data from our servers.
Access: request a copy of the data tied to your account by emailing us.
Data retention
We keep account and progress data while your account is active. When you delete a profile or your account, the corresponding data is removed.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
